A 2003 song by Stefanie Sun (孙燕姿), written by lyricist 易家扬 to music by 林一峰 (Chet Lam). It became the theme for the film adaptation of Jimmy Liao's picture book 《向左走·向右走》 (Turn Left, Turn Right), a story about two people who live next door to each other and keep missing each other by a single turn.
The song is about waiting on a love that has not arrived yet. Its images move through weather and travel — winter leaving, an overcast afternoon, a face through a car window, a corner in the road — but the emotional question stays fixed in the future tense: who she will meet, and how far off that person still is.
That is the song's central move, and the reason it reads as wistful rather than sad. It is not about a meeting. It is about the anticipation of one, held open.
遇见遇见 yùjiàn is "to meet" specifically by chance: 遇 is the chance-encounter morpheme, 见 is "see." English releases use Encounter or Meet, but neither keeps the accidental quality — 遇见 is closer to "to happen upon someone."

谁 here is not a question word. In a hypothetical clause, 谁 / 什么 / 哪 routinely lose their interrogative force and become indefinites — "whoever," "whatever." Learners almost always read this line as a question first. And 对白 is the screenwriting word for dialogue rather than plain 对话: she is imagining the meeting as a scene in a film.

我等的人 is a textbook relative clause: 的 turns "I wait" into a modifier on 人, and the head noun is the object of the verb, which English has to mark with a trailing "for" and Chinese simply leaves bare. Then 多远的未来 puts a distance word on time — literally "how-far future" — treating the future as a place you could be standing in.
